Raise Bet Payouts

The better the hand that you receive, the better the payout is for the raise bet. As stated before, the dealer must qualify in order to win these payouts:

High Card and Pair – 1 to 1 payout, Two Pairs – 2 to 1 payout, Trips – 3 to 1 payout, Straight – 4 to 1 payout, Flush – 5 to 1 payout, Full House – 7 to 1 payout, 4 of a Kind – 20 to 1 payout, Straight Flush – 50 to 1 payout, Royal Flush – 100 to 1 payout

Let’s give an example: If you bet $10 on your ante, then you will always win 1 to 1 on the ante, or $10 in this case. Your raise bet will have been $20. Let’s say you got a Full House. If the dealer qualifies, you will win $20 x 7 or $140. Plus the $10 from the Ante means you win $150 total.

If the dealer doesn’t qualify for the hand, you win $10 This is often the most frustrating thing that happens in caribbean stud. That’s why the progressive jackpots are important. The progressive coin you put in at the beginning of the hand will protect hands you get that are flushes or higher.

Caribbean Stud Strategy

In order to play caribbean stud poker effectively, you should have a good understanding of when to fold and when to raise. The standard way of playing is to raise if you have Ace, King, Jack, 8, 3 or higher in your hand and fold otherwise.

I’m going to tell you my own personal guide that I think works a little better:

1) Always raise with a pair or higher

2) Always fold when your hand won’t qualify*
This one has an asterisk because you can go sometimes, but only in this exact situation. Remember the dealer has one cards is revealed. If one of your cards matches the dealer’s up card, then you may cautiously bet when your hand doesn’t qualify. This is because he is more likely not to have a pair.

3) Only play with Ace/King in your hand in the following situations:
a) When the dealer is showing an Ace or King and you have a 10 or higher left in your hand
b) When the dealer’s up card matches one of yours
c) When you also have a queen or jack in your hand

Pai Gow is a game that was invented in China. It involves Chinese dominoes and the name Pai-Gow means “make nine” in Chinese. The game of Pai Gow poker was invented in the 1980’s and involves using a standard 52 card deck and 1 joker. It is an offshoot of the original game and maintains the Chinese heritage by adopting the dragon as a symbol of the game.

Pai Gow Poker Rules

Here are the basic rules to play pai gow poker:

A total of seven people can play in a hand of pai gow because each person needs to be dealt 7 cards (7 times 7 is 49 with 4 cards left over). Each person must bet before they get their cards. The dealer will either roll dice or use a random number generator to pick the first person dealt to. Each person is dealt all 7 cards in a row.

You are using basic poker hand rankings with two exceptions:

1. The wheel is the second highest straight in Pai gow poker (Ace,2,3,4,5) to the royal straight (Ace,king,queen,jack,10)




2. Because of the Joker card, you can get 5 Aces. This is the highest hand in pai gow poker.

The joker card is special in pai gow poker. It isn’t always wild. The joker’s normal value is an Ace, but it can be used to complete a flush or straight.

After you are dealt the cards, you must break up the seven cards into two hands: a two card hand and a five card hand. In the two card hand, any pair beats a non-pair and a pair of aces is the best hand.

The objective of the game is that you, the player, must beat both the banker’s 5 and 2 card hands in order to win money. If you have the better 5 card hand and the dealer has the better 2 card hand or vise versa, you will push and no money will be won or lost. If you lose both hands, you lose your bet.

If you win, it is important to note that you must pay a 5% commission on your winnings.

If you tie on one of the hands (have identical hand to the banker), it is called a copy hand. The banker always wins a copy hand. Copy hands are the reason why the banker has an advantage of about 2.5% over the player in pai gow poker.

The best strategy to winning at pai gow poker is to play the House Way. The house way is the strategy the casinos have their dealers employ. There is no decisions to make. The casinos do it this way because it gives them the best odds of winning.

Pai Gow Poker at the Casinos

   Try a betting pattern like this: Red, Odd, Last 18, and sprinkle in some 6 to 1 or 8 to 1 payouts. These would include betting on 6 numbers (or two rows of three numbers) or betting on 4 numbers by placing a chip on the four corners where the numbers meet.

Omaha Hi Lo Basics

Each player is dealt four cards. Out of these four cards, you must use two and only two of them when making your hand. For example, if you see 7-8-9-J on the board and you have a 10 in your hand, you do not necessarily have a straight. You must also have one more card in his hand to complete the straight.

The same is true for flushes. Having four clubs in your starting hand would kind of suck, because you would still need to get three more clubs for the flush. If you have one of each suit (rainbow), then you have zero chance of making a flush. If you have two sets of two cards suited (two clubs and two hearts), then you are said to be Double Suited.

Another hand you might get that isn’t as good as it sounds is two pairs. You can only use one of them.

1. Wrap hands:
   It is very important to understand wrap hands as this is an important part of a strategy in Omaha hi-lo. A wrap hand is one that has four connectors like 2-3-4-5.

   Double suited wrap hands are very important because they weigh more than single suited hands of the same value.

   The health of these cards is in the straights that can be made using such cards. The strongest wrap hand is J-T-9-8 double suited. Here the value of a straight hand is very important as it can be beaten by card combination of (K high, ace high and Q high flushes).






2. Ranking:
   Wrap hands such as 6-5-4-3 are not good Omaha hands because ranking is a very important part of all poker games. A hand’s strength should be measured by the relative strength of the resultant hand and not by the hand’s value.

   If some body fails to estimate the value of a hand he might lose up and one should fold the weaker hands. Practice makes one perfect so all players should practice and try to learn the game in a better manner.




3. Ace-Ace combination:
   If a person has a strong starting hand then he can easily win the game. A strong hand can be an ace-ace combination which helps anybody to win huge. One should always keep in mind that if he has a dry ace combination which means that a person has two aces in a hand with two low cards then it is very hard for that person top make a straight or a flush.

   The only chance of winning this hand is to have a single opponent with no pair of aces. If one owns an ace pair and two other high cards such as an A-A-Q-K then that person should try to get as much profit as possible because this is the strongest hand prior to the flop.




4. Strategy with pairs of K and Q:
   A person should play aggressively if he owns pairs of high cards such as (K-K-Q-Q). This hand should be played in the same way as pair of aces with high cards is played because they are very good for winning Omaha.




5. Use of trickery:
   The most important strategy of winning any gambling game is bluffing. If one has a very bad hand and he is not able to win with that hand he should try to bluff and try to cheat people by showing that he have a better hand than his opponent.

   The same goes for a person with a really nice hand such as pairs of aces and Ks. He should try to cheat by proving that he has a bad hand and always keep your opponent in two minds to win big.
